It should be called Wilkes-Berry!

Needless to say it's been a little busy lately because I've been MIA for the last two weeks...but I'm back! Production so far has been one hella crazy ride. My days were pretty consistent with rehearsals all day every day, putting all of the elements of the final show together- let me tell you, it's been quite the adventure and I can't wait for audiences to join us!

Luckily, it won't be long for that to happen- opening day is less than a week away! This Friday, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania marks the opening of our tour! *cue all of the feelings*

I left Bemidji, Minnesota at the glorious morning hour of 4:30am, and after many hours and modes of transportation, arrived in PA. I even flew on two planes yesterday (before this tour, the last time I was on a plane I was seven years old. Not gonna lie, this was a big deal for me). You can basically call me an extremely experienced traveler now.

It's also my first day off in like, 10 days! So far, I'm enjoying it by sleeping in and admiring the mountainous views from the hotel. To be honest, there is nothing too exciting to report, besides these three things:

1. The local mall had a Sephora where everything was at least a couple dollars cheaper than everything in New York. Discounted Urban Decay? I think the make-up consultant/ cashier thought I was crazy when I announced that my go-to lipstick was $4.00 less than what I normally would pay.

2. THERE IS A WEGMANS IN THE AREA. Words cannot describe how excited I am to be in the land of the wondrous Wegmans again. You can bet your bottom dollar that I will get my picture with it as soon as I can get there. So, once again, the locals will think I'm crazy.

3. While grocery shopping yesterday, I learned that General Mills has come out with limited edition Pumpkin Spice Cheerios. All of my basic, Buffalo-born-girl dreams coming true. How lucky we are to be alive right now.

I'm hoping these next couple of days off will have slightly more interesting things to report, unless you share my affinity for reduced makeup prices and cereal. I'm so glad I was able to share my momentous findings with you.

Until next time, happy September! Time for all of the fall things!

Peace & love,
Shelby

Side note: I did not initially realize that Wilkes-Barre is actually pronounced like "Wilkes- Berry." As a dancer, this was confusing since "barre" refers to the ballet barre which is pronounced like "bar." Couldn't they have made their name a little easier to understand? Also, putting "Wilkes-Berry" on a map would look pretty fun and would definitely draw more attention. End of random thoughts.

My wonderful roommate and I got our picture by the famous Paul Bunyan and Babe Statue on our last night in Bemidji!

Good ol' Snoopy and Woodstock at the airport

Nice try Starbucks?

Hey now, hey now. This is what dreams are made of.
