The Home Stretch!

I realize it has been AGES since I have last posted- I know, I've failed my New Year's Resolution of keeping up with this blog until the end of tour! I may have missed a chunk in tour time, but hopefully I'll be able to make up for it from now until the end (and I've got Disneyland and Hawaii to look forward to!). It's gonna be good!

It's hard to believe that about a month and a half has passed since my last post about El Paso, Texas- much like this entire year, it feels like I was there just yesterday! Time has literally passed in the blink of an eye, and I'm finally getting some down time to take in and look at pictures of everything I've seen. To catch you up on what I missed, here's a quick recap of everywhere I've been since April 18th!

City #56- Lubbock, Texas- a quick trip to Buddy Holly's hometown!

City #57- Oklahoma City, Oklahoma- a short and very rainy trip, but by the end the sun came out and I checked out a local park.

City #58- Amarillo, Texas- the most exciting thing about this city was that we celebrated our 200th show here!

City #59- Rio Rancho, New Mexico- beautiful mountain views were everywhere! The high altitude was no joke; I wish I wasn't so worn out from the weekend of shows that I could've explored the area more!

City #60- Mesa, Arizona- hot, hot, HOT. Our hotel had an incredible pool that was definitely utilized when the daily temperatures reached over 100 degrees!

City #61- Tucson, Arizona- another city with beautiful southwest views, but not much time to explore, Arizona is a state I'll have to come back and visit!

City #62- San Luis Obispo, California- could barely pronounce the name, but this city was such a pleasant surprise to the itinerary. A popular place for retirees and college students, this friendly town was as comforting as a visit home!

City #63- Los Angeles, California- One. Amazing. Weekend. Saw the most famous things like the Chinese Theatre, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Griffith Park and Observatory, and performed for huge audiences in an iconic theatre. The theatre even had jumbo trons with a live feed of our show!

Ciy #64- Redding, California- much like Amarillo, Texas, we were in and out of here in a hot second.

City #65- Everett, Washington- a quaint town not far from Seattle, and our hotel hosted some scenic marina views with incredible sunsets!

BREAK! I had a break from the tour around Memorial Day, so I was able to visit my family and friends in my hometown of Buffalo, NY. I enjoyed some Mighty Taco, gorged on sponge candy, and relived my beloved dance recital days. The rest and quality time with my loved ones was definitely needed!

City #66- Reno, Nevada- the poorer Las Vegas. Our hotel was connected to a smelly casino, but the outdoor pools (yes, plural) were BOMB. Other than that, I can't say anything else incredibly lovely about Nevada.

City #67- Portland, Oregon- I wish I had more time here, and better transportation options. This trendy, environmentally- conscious town included a fun local news station visit and some delicious doughnuts!

And there you have it, you're all caught up! I didn't realize how much I missed until I actually sat down, pulled out my calendar, and wrote all of this out. They say time flies when you're having fun, but I think it passes in warp speed when you're having fun on tour! It was a decent mix of exciting and dull cities in this past month and a half since my last post. It's hard to believe that I only have five cities left!

FOR REAL this time, I will do my absolute best to keep this up until the very end of the tour. My exact end date is July 23rd, which means I have about six weeks left! There is plenty of adventure still in store, but sadly I know the end is very near. I'm in the home stretch now, people, and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it!

Signing off from the Street,
Shelby
